We are here to help you help your child, both therapeutically and, if necessary, as an advocate. Schools have come a long way in the past few decades when it comes to providing services for children with special needs, but they’re still often less than ideal, particularly in this era of diminished school resources.
Dr. Pesner has advocated for dozens of clients, making sure they are getting the education they’re entitled to, including all the appropriate special education services to meet their needs. Some of the ways we can help:
- Reviewing IEPs for long- and short-term goals, benchmarks, accommodations and services
- Drafting letters to school districts regarding any IEP issues
- Providing representation at team meetings
- Providing representation and guidance at mediation
Mostly, however, we can help you build a strong and cooperative relationship with your child’s educational team and school district. Our goal is to support you so you can support your child.
